Intimacy & Sex Therapy

If you are experiencing a lack of intimacy or a dissatisfying sex life, intimacy and sex therapy can help.

When you think of the word “intimacy”, you might assume it is referring to sex. But you have likely experienced intimacy without being sexual, and you might have even experienced sex without intimacy.

Intimacy

Intimacy can be created through shared experiences, exchange of intellectual ideas and opinions, emotional openness, and physical affection. It is created when the feelings of love, safety and connection are experienced, and it is built on mutual openness, vulnerability, and trust.

Sex

Sex is an expression of intimacy and connection, but it is also part of our individual identity, an innate desire, and the source of procreation. Sexual health and connection rely on a sense of self and self-love, awareness, responsibility, mutual respect, and a willingness to feel deeply.
