Divorce or Breakup

Studies have shown that the end of a relationship can require the same grieving process as that of losing a family member.

The end of a relationship can be one of the most painful, confusing and complicated experiences of your life. This was your closest person, the one you planned a life with and the person to whom you were most attached. The loss of a primary relationship involves a grief process that must be attended to.

Treatment

In this process you may feel a range of emotions or find yourself vacillating between hope and pain. For some of us, this transition can trigger feelings of rejection, failure, inadequacy or abandonment—feelings that deserve to be processed and healed. In therapy, we will hold space while you grieve, help you to soothe your pain, and support you in building a vision and a plan for moving forward.
